Prague was magical.
It took us 12 hours to drive there from Florence.
We drove all through the night.
We were so happy to make it to Prague.
It was like we were walking around in a fairytale.
We kept saying we felt like we were in Disneyland, except it was a million times better obviously :)
Our first hostel was great. I have never stayed in a hostel before, and I enjoyed my first experience in the Czech Inn.
One of the best parts of spring break [obviously] was trying all of the different foods in each country.
Czech food is very heavy. Lot's of meat and potatoes.
I had one of the best sausages (
kielbasa) in my life here at a stand that felt like late night Munchies in Pullman.
We had turtlenecks, which are dough cooked on a huge wooden stick with cinnamon and sugar. D. Licious.
Mulled wine is sold everywhere here. Hot, spiced and perfect for the cold weather. We want to try to make it when we get back to Florence.
We at at the Cafe Louvre.
Einstein used to frequent this cafe which was pretty sweet.
We had the most delicious blueberry tart with an Irish coffee.
Things got dangerous when we realized that the evening food stands in Old Town took euros. We had run out of Czech Crowns haha.
The Lennon Wall was incredible.
Young Czechs would write grievances on the wall starting in 1988.The wall continuously undergoes change and the original portrait of Lennon is long lost under layers of new paint. Even when the wall was repainted by some authorities, on the second day it was again full of poems and flowers. Today, the wall represents a symbol of youth ideals such as love and peace.
We took a Prague castle tour.
It is gothic style architecture, and one of the coolest things I have ever seen.
I'm obsessed with gargoyles.
The castles and cathedrals in Europe are so incredibly intricate.
I feel like I could stare at them for hours and still not see all the details.
The gargoyles in the picture below had water that had frozen while it was dripping out of their mouths.
Pretty creepyyyyyy haha.
